Research on Evaporation Simulation Scheme of LNG Storage Tank

Due to its characteristics of low temperature, atmospheric pressure, easy storage and transportation, LNG has become the main energy source for cross-regional transportation between major supply and demand countries. In order to solve the problem of excessive evaporation of LNG in the process of storage and transportation, this paper summarizes the calculation methods of tank capacity and static daily evaporation rate of different types of storage tanks based on the commonly used calculation models. The HYSYS model of the standard tank separation process simulation established by using the GERG-2008 equation of state solution makes it have the ability to scale upstream and downstream. In order to solve the problem of model reductivity, the idea of using the VOF model in FLUENT and the Lee model to carry out the convective evaporation simulation of the fluid in the tank under normal working conditions such as storage, liquid inflow and discharge, and sloshing, as well as abnormal conditions of stratification and rollover was proposed. The combination of macro analysis and micro simulation is of great significance for the evaporation management of the LNG industry and the realization of the global carbon neutrality goal.
