In the context of energy transformation, how the oil production engineering system boosts the green and low-carbon development of oil field companies is of great significance to the “carbon peak, carbon neutral”, the global climate change problem and the realization of sustainable social and economic development. After understanding the situation of the oil and gas industry through the literature method, the bench marking tools in the strategic analysis were used to explore the four new business areas of CCUS, geothermal energy, UCG and green energy utilization, clarify the technical problems in various fields and the gaps in existing supporting engineering technologies, and put forward the development positioning and goals. Based on the analysis and research, petroleum engineering system should strengthen the top as a whole lead, accelerate the development of petroleum engineering and low-carbon energy integration, increase foundation, reserve technology research, accelerate the intellectual property achievements, strengthen the construction of open cooperation and research and development platform, increase management mode innovation, build low-carbon energy technology chain, promote “oil, gas, low-carbon energy” industry chain and technology chain two-way integration, realize the multidimensional development.
