Green Concrete which undergoes further improvements in the mix design and placement to ensure an extended lifespan and minimal maintenance surface is referred to as “green concrete.” This type of concrete takes into account all aspects related to performance and requires considering all stages of the lifespan of a concrete structure, including production, finishing, and building design. Green concrete can be made by supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) like Fly Ash, Silica fume and Recycled glass. For this study, used 20% of Fly Ash (FA) in place of cement to make green concrete and this is economical and environmentally friendly. The Jhama Bricks (JB) are over burned bricks, these are fired at high temperature for a long period of time and sometimes the strength of jhama bricks is found to be equivalent or higher than first class bricks. This study focused on the durability properties of green concrete by partial replacement of coarse aggregate with jhama bricks. For this study the concrete mix was prepared as 10% replacement of coarse aggregate with jhama bricks and 20% replacement of cement with fly Ash. Then Hydrochloric acid (HCl) and sulfuric acid (H2SO4) are used to test the durability performance of materials in terms of water absorption, sorptivity and resistance to acid attack. Sorptivity and Water absorption tests indicate that the alternative concrete is more susceptible to capillary action and water infiltration than usual concrete, having its low permeability. Concrete samples exhibited minimized weight loss and cracking in the structure after exposure to both HCl and H2SO4 solutions, indicating the material's resistance to abrasive environments in this investigation.
