Preparation and Properties of Functional Mineralized Collagen Bone Repair Materials Doped with Zinc Ions

Mineralized collagen (MC) is an important biomimetic material with many applications in orthopedics field. Doping a small amount of zinc ions can effectively regulate the biological activity of MC, promote the adhesion, proliferation and differentiation of bone cells, and promote the regeneration, antibacterial and repair effects of bone tissue. In this study, mineralized collagen (Zn-MC) with different zinc doping amounts was synthesized by co-precipitation method, and the composition of Zn-MC was analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and X-ray energy dispersive analysis (EDS). The results showed that zinc ions were successfully added to the mineralized collagen. The structure and composition were analyzed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and it was concluded that the prepared material was indeed mineralized collagen. The particle morphology and microstructure were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The surface morphology and microstructure of Zn-MC were basically the same as that of MC. The above results show that the functional mineralized collagen bone repair material doped with zinc ions has been successfully prepared.
