This study aims to explore the design principles and methods of virtual reality technology in Changsha Shadow Puppetry cultural inheritance, enhancing the efficiency of the inheritance of non-heritage culture through technical means. The research methodology includes an in-depth analysis of the problems and challenges faced by Changsha Shadow Puppetry in the process of modern inheritance, and the use of virtual reality technology to make innovative breakthroughs. This study pays attention to the creation of the content of Changsha Shadow Puppetry, and shows its essence as an intangible cultural heritage by enhancing interactivity and experience, so as to promote its inheritance and development. It aims to provide new ideas and methods for the modern inheritance of a wider range of intangible heritage items.
