Modifying the Helmholtz-Kohlrausch Effect Model for Enhanced CIECAM16 Lightness Function
摘要
This study traces the previous studies on the Helmholtz- Kohlrausch (H-K) effect, and conducts a Variable Achromatic Color (VAC) lightness matching experiment based on a wide color gamut display. The experimental data shows that the H-K effect is stronger in colors with higher lightness. Then, the modification was proposed based on Fairchild and Pirrotta's existing lightness dependency function and extending Hellwig's hue dependency function. Finally, the model’s performance was evaluated by comparing it to all other available H-K correction models.
