Process Optimization and Control
摘要
This Chapter focuses on the understanding of the optimization and control aspects of the design of the iron ore sintering plants. It starts with considering the optimization of important sintering parameters like temperature, time, and atmosphere and how they affect the quality and efficacy of the sintering process. This chapter also emphasizes the need for such control technology to ensure that specific sinter attributes including strength, porosity, and homogeneity are met. The chapter went further to explain the various techniques of maintaining the quality of sinter including collection and analysis of scan data to maintain the right conditions for sintering. The chapter further discusses the methods of resolving or remedying frequent problems experienced during sintering such as low strength of sinter, inconsistent temperature distribution, and poor feedstock consistency, and some remedies to these problems to improve the stability of the process. This chapter helps readers understand how to control and optimize the sintering process to increase productivity as well as the quality of sintered iron ore.
