This book is based on collected grassroots voices in sub-Saharan Africa and explores how local people perceived and coped with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and government prevention policies on their daily lives. We draw lessons from COVID-19 experience not only from policymakers’ perspectives but also from those of ordinary people and thereby contribute to discussions in the international community as it prepares for the next pandemic.
