The Emerging Role of Technology in Mitigating Risk in Humanitarian Supply Chain
摘要
This chapter explores the transformative role of emerging technologies in mitigating risks and enhancing efficiency within humanitarian supply chains. It examines how innovative tools such as Geographic Information Systems, artificial intelligence, blockchain, and the Internet of Things are revolutionizing crisis response and disaster management. Through a comprehensive analysis of current applications and case studies, including drone-based medical supply delivery in Rwanda and AI-powered disease outbreak prediction in Sierra Leone, the chapter demonstrates the potential of technology to overcome logistical challenges, improve resource allocation, and ultimately save lives. While acknowledging implementation challenges such as the digital divide and ethical concerns, the chapter argues that technology integration is crucial for building more resilient, transparent, and effective humanitarian operations. By synthesizing cutting-edge research and real-world examples, this work provides valuable insights for scholars, practitioners, and policymakers seeking to leverage technology in humanitarian contexts.
