This research integrates YOLOv8 with OpenCV, two robust technologies for real-time car detection and counting in films. YOLOv8 is an intelligent algorithm that excels at identifying vehicles in films, and OpenCV is a platform that facilitates their organisation and tracking. Before YOLOv8 can do its thing, we improve the videos’ visual quality. Next, YOLOv8 detects the vehicles in the videos, and OpenCV records their positions and tally them up. Using actual footage from highways and busy streets, we were able to demonstrate that our technology performed admirably! Like it should, it could swiftly and precisely tally the number of cars. Therefore, this method has the potential to greatly aid in traffic monitoring and improved road management.
