A Novel on GeoIP Location Tracking

The prevalence of smart phones accessing Internet services via cellular networks is on the rise. By analyzing data gathered and utilizing is a popular location-based application, our focus is to ensure that individuals who miss their scheduled bus have the opportunity to board an alternative bus, particularly those who reside at a considerable distance from their educational institution and rely on timely transportation. It is worth noting that WhatsApp’s live location feature has limitations as it ceases to function when the app is closed or running in the background. To address this challenge, our work will rely on two key methods for location tracking: Global Positioning System (GPS): GPS is known for its high level of accuracy and precision, akin to GeoIP. It provides accurate location information regardless of whether the application is active or not, Triangulation-Signal Strength Tracking: Triangulation, on the other hand, derives location information based on the signal strength of the user’s SIM card. This method may be less accurate as it depends on signal variations due to the user’s location. Our solution involves offering users access to their real-time location data through a web portal accessible from anywhere. This functionality enables users to determine the location of nearby buses in real time, facilitating their ability to catch an alternative bus if necessary.
