Elevating Resilient Acid Attack Survivors: Unlocking Paths to Skill Enhancement and Career Readiness

Acid violence represents a heinous crime involving the intentional hurling of corrosive acid to inflict harm upon another human being. Tragically, a significant portion of acid attack survivors comprises young girls and women from disadvantaged backgrounds, often denied the chance to complete their education. In light of this, technology emerges as a potent instrument for driving social change and fostering greater awareness within society. This paper embarks on an exploration of the myriad obstacles hindering the progress of survivors in India and examines the potential of technology to uplift them. This paper introduces a conceptual design via a digital app-based platform tailored specifically for acid attack survivors, with the primary aim of facilitating personal growth. The Minimum Viable Product (MVP) concept places a strong emphasis on accessible job opportunities and skill development. Through this application-based idea, survivors can establish digital connections with key stakeholders and navigate their professional journeys more efficiently following the harrowing experience of an acid attack. The application leverages the double diamond design thinking methodology to deeply analyze the challenges faced by acid attack survivors, thereby unearthing valuable opportunities for improvement.
