Communication skills, particularly listening skills, are important to personal and professional life. This chapter describes an activity designed to help students understand and develop their ability to listen, interpret and then act on messages from a partner to complete a task. Engaging in the activity can also introduce students to the importance of critically reflecting on their skill development as they learn. The activity can also be used as an icebreaker, takes about 40 min, can be used with in-person small or larger tutorial groups and has been used successfully on video conferencing platforms like Zoom and Teams.
