A definitive diagnosis of the causative gene in hereditary tumors is endurance, effect on the family, and predictiveness of cancer onset. In addition, managing patients with hereditary tumors necessitates meticulous care. Moreover, genetic information holds potential for guiding subsequent treatment selection and providing actionable insights into diseases. Clinicians might be reluctant to definitively diagnose hereditary tumors, given the implications on family members; however, such hesitancy is unwarranted. We introduce the term “gene awareness” inspired by breast awareness to underscore our commitment to providing knowledge and awareness of genetic diagnosis. We aim to disseminate “gene awareness” among healthcare providers, patients, and the general population. This initiative aims to develop knowledge of hereditary tumors and the benefits of genetic information among medical professionals, enabling them to provide informed recommendations to patients, and potentially influencing public health awareness. By expanding “gene awareness” nationwide, we hope to increase opportunities and demand for consulting about hereditary tumors without hesitation.
