The Internet of Things (IoT) is becoming an increasingly important part of the future since it solves so many societal concerns. The capacity to remotely control and monitor physical items (things) over the Internet is the bedrock of the Internet of Things (IoT). Recent efforts have used the concept of the Internet of Things (IoT) to automate and make houses smarter and safer. However, the most significant challenge to fully embracing smart home applications has been the implementation of privacy and security measures. This article will provide a brief overview of current research on the most prevalent cybersecurity threats and cyberattacks that target smart home systems. Important findings about smart home security, weaknesses, and threats will also be covered in this research. Finally, this article concludes with some suggestions for preventing hackers from gaining access to internet-of-things-based smart homes.
