Experimental Study of Stabilization with Red Soil by Using Admixtures like Rice Husk Ash, Fly Ash, and Marble Dust

The objective of this study is to establish a method for stabilizing red soil through the reuse of waste materials, including rice husk ash, fly ash, and marble dust. This approach is expected to yield economic and environmental benefits. Soil stabilization is a critical technique that is extensively employed in road pavement construction to enhance the engineering properties of soil, including strength, stability, and durability. This is achieved through the implementation of diverse laboratory experiments that involve the addition of admixtures to increase the index properties and regulate the permeability. The effects of various admixture percentages (6, 12, 18, and 24%) of fly ash, marble dust, and rice husk ash are examined in this paper. The laboratory experiments involve testing these percentages using Atterberg’s limits, the standard Proctor Compaction and soaked California bearing ratio. When the admixture content is 18%, the CBR values are at their highest possible level.
