Our paper proposes using the Farneback optical flow method and space-time image velocimetry (STIV) to estimate river flow velocities in upstream areas using drone data. The Farneback method may analyze sequential images, while STIV has information about flow, temporal, and spatial information. In addition, we also developed a novel model for river flow prediction using drone image data and satellite information. This method may improve the hydropower stability and enhance flood control strategies. Experimental results gave us drone images from upstream and the advantages of our proposed approach.
