Bidens biternata: Chemistry and Pharmacology
摘要
Bidens biternata is a genus of flowering plants in the Asteraceae family with a long history in numerous countries and regions. In this chapter, we first explore the historical significance of Bidens biternata, highlighting its traditional medicinal uses in different cultures. We then discuss the main chemical constituents of the plant, identify the main bioactive compounds that contribute to its therapeutic potential, and study the biological activities of these compounds, focusing on their anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiviral, antitumor, and antioxidant properties. In addition to exploring the individual properties of Bidens biternata, we compared it with those of other species of the same genus. This comparative analysis revealed similar or unique pharmacological properties between Bidens biternata and other plants of the same genus. Our study contributes to the understanding of the chemical composition and pharmacological properties of Bidens biternata, provides valuable insights into contemporary healthcare practices, and provides a theoretical basis for future research and potential applications of Bidens biternata in the development of novel therapeutic drugs. By combining traditional knowledge with modern scientific research, we emphasize the relevance of Bidens biternata in modern medicine. With its rich history and diverse pharmacological properties, Bidens biternata holds promise as an important source of new therapies and medicines for contemporary healthcare.
