This chapter is dedicated to convey the purpose, importance, and feasibility of promoting micro-enterprises under secondary agriculture, with a view to addressing the unique challenges of the country’s agricultural economy that is in need of creating additional jobs and supplementary incomes. The categorisation of micro-enterprises is in tune with the authors’ definition of secondary agriculture, vide Chap. 3 , Sects. 3.5 , 3.5.2 , and Fig. 3.3 . In this chapter, the type of activities possible under the three broad types (A, B, and C) of micro-enterprises are explained. Finally, select case studies representing these three broad categories have been taken up to illustrate the scope, feasibility, and potential of job creation, besides working out economic and financial analysis.
