This is a concluding chapter that reiterates the critical needs of contemporary times, as well as the future, and the inevitability of mandating the agriculture sector with broader responsibilities including the generation of jobs and affiliated incomes for the workforce engaged in agriculture directly and indirectly. As a response, the solution that secondary agriculture offers stands re-emphasised. This chapter also analyses the projected demand for various agri-commodities by 2029–2030 and 2032–2033 to pinpoint surpluses and deficits. Based on these figures, the chapter draws attention to the deficits and suggests the need for targeting higher production via the productivity route.
