Digital Technology for Fostering Secondary Agriculture
摘要
Conventionally and because of the critical role of technology in enterprise management, scales of economy have emerged as a deciding factor. It is the scales of the economy that have come to decide the operational efficiency and the ability of the enterprise to compete in the open market. The micro-enterprises find it hard to compete with enterprises that operate at a higher scale, whether small, medium, or large. But as discussed in earlier chapters, medium- and large-scale enterprises are not able to absorb the surplus manpower engaged in agriculture. India with a huge workforce needs gainful jobs, and secondary agriculture led by micro-enterprises linked to bioresources is recommended as one of the solutions. However, to enable micro and small enterprises to operate efficiently and remain competitive in the open market, digital technology is suggested. Digital technology if adopted appropriately has the capacity to impart operational efficiency to the micro and small enterprises.
