Fundamental Concepts, Classification, and Materials Used for 3D, 4D, and 5D Printing
摘要
In this chapter, the fundamental concept of the 3D, 4D and 5D printing technology has been discussed briefly. Unlike traditional manufacturing procedures, 3D printing is an additive process that has become a practical way to build technical components. Here, 3D, 4D and 5D printings are the modern advanced emerging technologies for a wide range of applications. Since every material has different features and applications, it is critical to comprehend the advantages and disadvantages of each choice. From a fundamental perspective, available materials, fabrication speed, each unique application and resolution are the characteristics of these advanced techniques. Once again, due to their low post-processing waste, ease of manufacture, low human involvement, minimum material waste, and energy efficiency, 3D, 4D, and 5D printing are sustainable technologies for industrial applications. The merits and downsides of various 3D, 4D and 5D printing technologies are covered in this study. A thorough explanation of the various materials suitable for every kind of 3D, 4D and 5D printing methods are discussed along with numerous application areas are also presented in the study. The results of this collective study would be useful to upcoming scholars and industry professionals working in 3D, 4D and 5D printing.
