Positive Education and Happiness Curriculum at the School Level
摘要
The Happiness curriculum focuses on nurturing emotional and mental well-being alongside academic learning. It aims to equip students with essential life skills, emotional intelligence, and resilience, thus enabling them to navigate challenges more effectively and lead fulfilling lives. Both the Happiness curriculum and positive psychology converge on the significance of nurturing positive emotions, robust social connections and fostering a sense of purpose. By synergizing these approaches, individuals can develop a comprehensive understanding of well-being, enabling them to lead more satisfying lives and contribute positively to their communities. By integrating elements of well-being, mindfulness, interpersonal relationships and emotional resilience into the core curriculum, students may be equipped with the essential life skills needed to navigate modern challenges. This chapter focuses on planning a happiness curriculum for schools. It identifies the key ideas and basic needs of the happiness curriculum for grades 1–8.
