Integrating Blockchain Into Insurance Claim Management: Applications of NFTs, Smart Contracts and IPFS
摘要
This paper explores the integration of blockchain technology into insurance claim management, focusing on the use of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) smart contracts and IPFS to enhance security, traceability, and operational efficiency. Traditional insurance claim processes, which involve multiple stages and parties, often suffer from delays, errors, and opportunities for fraud due to their complexity and manual nature. Blockchain technology offers a decentralized and tamper-proof platform that can streamline these processes, making transactions more transparent and verifiable. The study examines various blockchain platforms compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), such as BNB Chain, Fantom, Polygon, and Celo, analyzing their transaction fees and operational costs to assess their economic feasibility for insurance applications. By detailing the technical and economic considerations of adopting blockchain for insurance claims, the paper provides insights into selecting suitable platforms and technologies that balance cost-efficiency and functionality, aiming to improve the overall management of insurance claims.
