Agriculture product traceability systems based on blockchain are aimed at bringing in transparency starting from the cultivation of agricultural products to harvesting and delivery to the consumer. These systems minimize issues related to food safety and middleman involvement. Currently, these traceability systems are confined to agricultural product traceability including its production, processing, storage, and selling. But these systems can also include functionalities like branding a product as organic and safe by an authorized organization and tracing the growth rate and productivity of the crop by government agencies for planning and implementation of sustainable agriculture practices. The proposed system incorporates these two functionalities in addition to product traceability, which leverages the trust of the consumer for the product. The system is implemented using the Hyperledger Fabric blockchain.
