Functional Agile Project Management Strategies for Effective Implementation of Change Management in Construction Projects

The construction industry has taken a significant share in the development of countries, so that the growth of construction projects is one of the criteria for measuring the economic growth. The dynamic nature of construction projects always causes changes in project plans or processes. Therefore, the successful implementation of change management is very important. Agile project management provides effective strategies for the successful implementation of change management in construction projects that increases the adaptability of the project to changes and brings the possibility of quick reaction to them for the project managers. The purpose of this research is to rank the agile project management strategies based on the factors that cause changes in the construction. This research is applied in purpose, descriptive in method and nature. It employs multi-criteria decision making to model expert minds. The data is quantitative, and the study is cross-sectional in time. DNAP and TOPSIS techniques were used for data analysis in this research. The results show the essential role of the contractor's financial problems in the occurrence of changes and the high impact of flexible workflow strategy in the effective implementation of change management in the construction projects. Therefore, it is recommended to the managers of construction projects to increase the adaptability of project processes with changes by using this strategy in their projects and contracts.
