WOA Algorithm-Based Optimal Positioning Control for DC Servomotor System

This paper discusses the analysis and implementation of PID tuning strategies employed for positioning control of DC servomotor system. Beginning with the elementary outline of servomotors and concerning literature, this paper briefly discusses the PID controller and its tuning strategies based on auto tuner, PSO (Particle Swarm Optimization), and WOA (Whale Optimization Algorithm) approaches. This paper presents the mathematical modeling of a DC servomotor for addressing positioning control issues. Subsequently, the paper discusses the outcomes following the implementation of various controllers, comparing their performance in terms of robustness against external disturbances. Simulation results highlight the effectiveness of the proposed WOA-tuned PID method, demonstrating its superiority in achieving optimal and robust position regulation.
