Verification Method for Arc Suppression Coil Tracking Compensation Performance

In this paper, the method of checking the performance of automatic tracking compensation arc suppression coil is analyzed and studied base on small disturbance ground experiment under different taps of arc suppression coil. This study canied out the small disturbance grounding experiments through singie-phase high resistance, with are suppression coil at three taps, i.e., tap D1, tap DF, and tap DS. Here, tap D1 corresponds to the action tap given by the automatic tracking compensation arc suppression coil. Tap DF is two taps below tap D1. Tap DS is one tap above tap D1. If the power calculated form the grounding residual current and the line voltage of the non-grounded phase under tap DF and that under tap DS had opposite sign, and If the power under tap D1 and that under tap DS had same sign, the performance of this automatic tracking compensation arc suppression coil device is determined as effective. Otherwise, the performance of the device is determined as poor. This theoretical method is validated by numerical simulations.
