Climate Change and Suicidal Behaviour
摘要
This chapter examines the intricate relationship between climate change and suicidal behaviour, synthesizing emerging evidence on this critical public health issue. It explores how climate change impacts mental health through direct effects of temperature changes and extreme weather events, as well as indirect pathways such as economic disruption, displacement, and eco-anxiety. It highlights vulnerable populations, including farmers, rural communities, indigenous groups, and youth, who face disproportionate risks. The chapter also evaluates various intervention methods, ranging from community-based resilience programs to technological solutions, aimed at addressing climate-related mental health challenges and suicidal behaviour.
