The operational edition of S-101 (ENC Product Specifications) based on S-100 (IHO Universal Hydrographic Data Model) will probably be approved by the end of this year to align with the S-100 implementation timeline [1]. Subsequently, hydrographic offices (HO) will accelerate into the era of parallel production of S-57 and S-101 ENCs. Therefore, it is essential that HOs take positive action to build S-101 ENCs production capacity. In order to build the production capacity of S-101 ENC better, this paper will discuss the methods and paths of building the correspondence between S-101 features and real world.
