The term “Industry 4.0” refers to industrial systems of the future. To improve the effectiveness of operations, it makes utilization of artificial intelligence, cloud computing, cyber-physical systems, and the Internet of Things (IoT). Information technology improvements set the stage for this revolution. Recognized by its other name, Industry 4.0, the latest stage of the industrial revolution has drastically altered production practices all around the world. Industry 4.0 has made Flexible Manufacturing Systems (FMSs) a crucial component. FMSs allow businesses to lower cost of production, boost efficiency, and react swiftly to shifts in consumer demand. The purpose of this study is to look into how Industry 4.0 will affect FMS in high-precision production. The research will evaluate whether the conception, functionality, and efficiency of FMS in precise production are impacted by the integration of virtual and physical systems, the web, the Internet of Things, including big data analytics. The study will use a combination of techniques to investigate manufacturers’ experiences utilizing Industry 4.0-enabled FMS, utilizing quantitative as well as qualitative analysis. The results of this study will add to the body of knowledge already available on Industry 4.0 and FMS, shedding light on the advantages and difficulties of applying Industry 4.0 to high-precision production.
