Ultrasound Image Despeckling Using Pixel-Wise Fusion Approach
摘要
Ultrasound images are widely used in medical image analysis. These images are often corrupted by multiplicative speckle noise. This study proposes a simple pixel level fusion based despeckling methods for ultrasound images. Three spatial domain filters are used for the filtering of the Ultrasound images. To compare the performance of the proposed pixel level fusion, a set of four fusion methods based on the filters median, min, max and Kuwahara are implemented. The performance of the proposed pixel-wise fusion is evaluated using Peak Signal to Noise Ratio, Structural Similarity Index and Universal Image Quality Index metrics. The result obtained demonstrates the efficacy of the proposed pixel-level fusion in despeckling.
