This chapter deals with some legal issues arising when representing SAFE contracts as smart contracts. It is argued that SAFEs cannot be implemented by smart contracts alone, and so must be augmented with a legal contract. Elements of such a legal contract are proposed. The chapter also discusses the question of how to make a smart contract responsive to legal rulings.
