Microneedles (MNs) are tiny needles, typically shorter than 2 mm, which can be arranged individually or in an array. Because of their small dimensions, these MNs present an easy approach to delivering drugs with reduced harm to surrounding tissues and are considered a minimally invasive drug administration. They also assist in overcoming significant obstacles related to administering drugs. MNs may prove to be a valuable approach for drug administration, as they can pass through the skin and penetrate its outer layer, allowing medications to reach lower skin regions while also assisting in the removal of body fluids. Although many years of research have led to the development of several types of MNs, only hollow ones have been approved for commercial medical use. In this book chapter, we explore hollow MNs, detailing the methods and materials used to manufacture them and their role in the delivery of drugs and vaccines.

摘要
