The foundations of offshore structures are subjected to cyclic loading due to various environmental factors such as wind, tidal and wave loads. As such, it is very important to analyze the behavior of offshore foundations under cyclic loading, which requires a cyclic constitutive model for soil. In this study, it is attempted to analyze the behavior of cohesive soil under cyclic loading. A bounding surface model was proposed and was implemented into a commercial soft-ware ABAQUS as a UMAT material. For validation, a single finite element model was analyzed with the proposed model, and the model simulated well the typical cyclic simple shear behavior of clays.
