Layout Design of Prefabricated Vertical Drains using Differential Evolution and Artificial Neural Networks
摘要
Prefabricated vertical drains (PVD) are widely used in Vietnam for the improvement of soft soils. This article presents a methodology to predict the most efficient arrangement of PVD through a two-stage process. Initially, the differential evolution technique is employed to determine the best layout of PVD. Sub-sequently, this optimal information is used to train and evaluate an artificial neural network (ANN) model. The relationship between the outcomes indicates the feasibility of utilizing ANN to design an effective PVD system, considering variables such as the elapsed time, the degree of consolidation, and the embankment height.
