Teacher Education, Teacher Learning, and Educational Innovation in Asia: Overview

This chapter serves as the introductory chapter for the section, focusing on the interconnections among three broad concepts: teacher education, teacher learning, and educational innovation. The section comprises six chapters from diverse national and regional contexts, including China, India, Kazakhstan, Singapore, South Korea, and Türkiye. Through these chapters, the section provides a comprehensive discussion on how increasing globalization, policy changes, and technological advancements are reshaping the expectations from educational systems and thereby influencing teacher education and learning across the broader Asia region. The key focus areas of the chapters, along with their interconnections, are outlined in this introductory chapter, accompanied by some overarching conclusions.
