Bibliometric Analysis on Entrepreneurial Education in Indo-Pacific Asia: Drivers, Trends, and Future Implications
摘要
Entrepreneurial education (EE) has emerged as a pedagogy for fostering innovation, entrepreneurial intentions, and workforce development in response to socioeconomic and technological changes. This chapter employs a bibliometric analysis to systematically examine the body of literature on EE in the Indo-Pacific Asian region, focusing on identifying major trends, influential contributions, dominant themes, and research gaps. A total of 1234 publications from Scopus and the Web of Science databases (2000–2024) were analyzed using performance analysis and science mapping techniques. The findings reveal a significant increase in EE research since 2016, with China, Indonesia, and Malaysia leading contributions. Dominant themes include the relationship between EE and entrepreneurial intentions, the role of self-efficacy, and the exploration of pedagogical approaches such as experiential learning. Emerging areas, such as digital and green entrepreneurship, highlight the evolving priorities in the field. However, the study identifies key gaps, including limited longitudinal studies, overreliance on some particular theoretical frameworks, and underrepresentation of research in primary and secondary education. These insights provide a synthesized foundation for advancing EE research and practice, ultimately supporting the development of a skilled and entrepreneurial twenty-first-century workforce.
