Caojiatan Coal Mine is in Machang Village, Mengjiawan Township, Yuyang District, Yulin City, Shaanxi Province, China. The mining area belongs to the first phase of the Yushen mining area planning district and is a key development project in the national coal industry “12th Five-Year Plan” as a large-scale coal mine demonstration construction project. The mine field is approximately 10 km wide and 12.5 km long, covering an area of 108.49 km2. The main coal seams mined are four layers, with recoverable reserves of 1.511 billion tons and an approved production capacity of 17.0 Mt/a.
