Determination of roof pressure is one of the core contents of rock control in comprehensive mechanized mining panel. Its goal is to make the panel roof control achieve great results under the premise of economic rationality to meet the safe production and efficient mining of the panel. The theory and method of determining the roof pressure are basically mature for the panel of ordinary mining height, however, the determination of the roof pressure for top coal mining panels and large mining height panels under thick and extra-thick coal seams is still in the exploratory stage, and it is often based on the on-site mining experience for analogical determination.
