Miniaturization of Rectangular Microstrip Antenna Using Shorting Posts for Low Frequency Wireless Underground Sensor Networks
摘要
For Electromagnetic wave to propagate underground low frequencies are preferred. Design of a miniaturized planar antenna at such low frequency specifically in P band (250–500 MHz) is much suitable for wireless underground sensor networks. Miniaturization at such low frequency is cumbersome task. In this work Microstrip patch antenna with copper shorting technique is presented. Miniaturization with number and position of vias are examined and presented. The observation paves a patch to the miniaturization of antennas with judicious placement of vias and its number. The results shows that frequency variations of Microstrip patch antenna by changing number and position of shorting vias without altering the physical dimensions.
