Impact on the Dynamic Responses of Nanoparticles Embedded Cholesteric Liquid Crystal Composites
摘要
Scientists are increasingly investigating chiral liquid crystal phases as flexible frameworks for helical assembly structures with the dispersion of various nanomaterials. This chapter will cover current advances in liquid crystal, providing many examples and critical methodologies for coupling nanomaterials with liquid crystal chirality, opening up new options for novel material design in the display industry. This chapter will provide an overview of how the introduction of nanomaterials alters the characteristics of cholesteric liquid crystals (CLCs). It will explore how nanomaterial dispersion affects the dynamic responses of CLCs, with a focus on the link between structural features, dispersion methodologies, and the resulting dynamic behavior. It will also describe the effects on the electro-optical performance of liquid crystal devices made by the dispersion of a variety of organic and inorganic nanomaterials with different sizes, shapes, and compositions in liquid crystals. Furthermore, this chapter will review and delve into thermotropic liquid crystal phases. It will demonstrate their potential use in nanotechnology, photonics, and material science, ultimately leading to the development of new functional materials.
