This chapter delves into the landscape of knee osteoarthritis (KOA), a prevalent chronic disorder affecting millions of people worldwide, causing significant morbidity and mortality. The comprehensive chapter examines publications in the Web of Science (WoS) database from 2019 to 2023, focusing on osteoarthritis (OA), platelet-rich plasma (PRP), and omics studies. The scope extends to the metabolomic analyses of stability tests conducted on PRP, a commonly utilized modality in the treatment of OA. Notably, findings suggest that freezing and reusing PRP may not pose a toxicological risk; however, from a physiological perspective, it may never fully substitute fresh PRP. In light of these results, the study recommends the preparation of PRP in a fresh state for optimal efficacy. This nuanced exploration provides valuable insights into the multifaceted realm of OA research and its potential therapeutic interventions.

摘要
