Project manager competency is an important factor in achieving project success. Therefore, the competence of the project manager really needs to be considered in selecting him to ensure the right competence to lead the implementation of a construction project. Currently, there is a lot of research in the world that discusses the competence of project managers. They discuss the competence of the project manager in various project execution cases. In this research, we examined several previous researchers on project manager competencies in the world from 2000 to 2022, when viewed from various project manager competency factors in the world, such as ICB, ACF, and PMCD, which were found in research on various project cases. Looking at these competency factors, many similarities refer to the Project Management Competency Development (PMCD) competency framework, which is one of the most popular competency frameworks in the world. This study discusses the elements of Knowledge Competence, Technical Competence, and Personal Competence. Therefore, competency research is deemed necessary to study and compare, which competency factors are more widely used referring to the framework, aiming to determine the extent to which project manager competencies in previous research are included in the project manager competency framework contained in competency standards.
