Rutting Performance of Padang Panjang Lime as a Filler in Split Mastic Asphalt Pavement

Pavement generally experiences repeated loading due to the load of the wheels passing over it. The effect of repeated loads of wheel tracks is significant on the pavement. A vehicle that passes once on pavement does not have much impact compared to a vehicle that passes repeatedly on a road. Research on the utilization of Padang Panjang lime for Split Mastic Asphalt (SMA) pavement as filler substitution has been carried out previously on the Marshall Test, where the sample is pressed statically until deformation occurs. Thus, further research is being conducted to determine the effect of SMA pavement using Padang Panjang lime as a filler by repeated loads. This study experimentally evaluates the rutting characteristics of 7% PP lime as a filler in the SMA pavement and confirms the value is above the standards set for pavements in general. The results show that the PP lime SMA has higher dynamic stability, above 2500 passing/mm and a resilient modulus above 2500 MPa, which means that the 7% PP lime has better resistance to rutting.
