A Review Paper: Lean Manufacturing Concept Application in Manufacturing Process of Empty Fruit Bunch (EFB) Washed Pellets as Fuel for Co-firing Coal at Thermal Coal Power Plant

This paper investigates the application of lean manufacturing concepts in the manufacturing process of empty fruit bunch (EFB) washed pellets intended for use as fuel in co-firing with coal at thermal coal power plants. The paper highlights the increasing demand for sustainable energy sources and the potential of biomass pellets, particularly EFB pellets, in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The papers emphasize the importance of optimizing the manufacturing process to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure product quality. Through a comprehensive review of lean manufacturing principles and their relevance to biomass pellet production, the study aims to propose strategies for improving the EFB pellet manufacturing process.
