With the anticipated increase in the elderly population and the insufficient resources available to cater to their care needs, there is a surge of interest in companion robots to alleviate loneliness among seniors. This paper presents the development of a digital smart companion aimed at enhancing the quality of life for the elderly, leveraging large language models and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to provide companionship and assistance.
