Emerging Techniques for the Rapid Detection of Cerebrospinal Fluid Leak
摘要
The leakage of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) is a challenging condition and can result in significant medical complications. Conventional methods of testing, such as enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and immunofixation electrophoresis, are available at limited clinical laboratories, adding to delays in accurate diagnosis and treatment. The work exhibited here is a device under development for the point-of-care detection of beta-2-transferrin (B2T), a biomarker exclusive to CSF that yields a sensitive and specific result within a few minutes, while simultaneously offering a measurable value.
