Recently there have been some technological breakthroughs which give hope for formulating fusion. The first is a breakthrough in the UK and the US in confining hydrogen plasma for a few millionths of a second. This in itself is a great achievement and a step towards fusion. The next is the isolation of the monochromatic waves, and finally using the technique of laser cooling to isolate short-range forces. All these developments could lead to an alternative scenario for nuclear fusion. The other is the question of nuclear fission. For this, we explore the following scenario.
