The rise and development of digital tourism has prompted various tourism enterprises to have new requirements for the digital ability of talent engaged in the tourism industry in the future. The digital ability of tourism talent determines whether it can survive and develop in fierce industry competition in the future. On the basis of a previous literature review and analysis, the author found that the digital ability of tourism talent plays a crucial role in their future career development. However, for various reasons, research in academia on the cultivation of the digital ability of vocational tourism talent is currently limited, and even less research has been conducted on Hainan Province.To further advance the reform and research of digital ability training for vocational tourism talent in Hainan against the background of digital tourism, this paper takes 394 students majoring in tourism at Sanya Aviation and Tourism College as the objects of study, designs a questionnaire to investigate the level of students’ digital ability, analyzes the existing problems of their digital ability, and suggests solutions to the relevant problems.
